When chill of cold
settles deep within my bones;
and my two lips are dry
as two smooth stones;
and sighing out, between my
moans-
You still will be
my family.
~
Until my silver cord snaps
free...
You'll always be My all to me: Lord filler of
eternity
come ever make
your home with me.
~
The widow and the orphan's Need,
The Bread of Life, The sparrow's feed,
My prayer is that You never leave-
And ever be- my family.
And ever be my family.

I wrote this poem as I contemplated psalm 27:10.
The thought had been running through my mind...'what if I lost everyone dear to me?'
I mean everyone!
It was a scary thought- until I read this in God's Word.
So remember. If you have the Lord you will always have family.
Even if you are marooned on a desert island, or in solitatry confinement, or just plain feel so lonely.
You will always be part of family...if you know the Lord.

PSALM 27:10
" When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek.
Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation.
10. When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. "
